Sculpted from Archie Comic books, The Fight over a simple stick takes on such drama!  The comic series is over 80 years old, so everyone will be able to identify with both the images and the sentiment.

The "denim" jeans and overalls are watercolour paper, painted and sculpted into these very precise forms to accentuate the foreshortened depth.  This is the first piece I have made with 2 figures and love the physical relationship and implied dialogue.  In my mind, I can actually hear them screaming "It's MY STICK!"  Having 2 sons, close in age, this piece is partly autobiographical...

Acrylic polymers have been used to stiffen the sculpted figures and the whole piece is framed with a 1/4" clear acrylic sheet mounted on stand-off hardware suspended 5 " above the ground.  There are 2 D-strap hangers on the solid wood frame, ready for hanging on your wall!
